"This week’s words come from “One Day You Wake Up,” by Ann Hunkins. You can find the poem in I Go to the Ruined Place, a compilation of poems written “in defense of global human rights.” One of the editors of the compilation is M. L. Smoker, a Montana poet. A member of the Assiniboine and Sioux tribes, Smoker is a poet in her own right. For an excellent read check out Smoker’s first book of poetry, Another Attempt at Rescue. A link to more information about both books is in the sidebar"...at The Sunday Whirl.
The permeable layer of fresh, frozen earth
shocks the newborn feet to flame,
as they walk across the field in anguish.
A rising flock startles serenity.
I am born in a frozen flame
upon a field of serenity
fresh feet shocks the earth
permeable to the seventh layer
ode to god
heart-felt anguish
winter startles me from sleep.
I awake
from the dream of Spring.

Nicely wordled. I don't think I ever saw you at this site before. Winter startles ME from sleep too, and gosh I hope to awake in spring and may it be here soon.
This is fantastic Cheryl. Really enjoyed the Wordle and your creativity with it. Love the image as well. Well done!

The pictures and text complement each other beautifully. Poems about seasons always win with me. Excellent imagery.
